Most people assume influencer marketing is simply about contacting creators and asking them to promote a brand. My experience taught me that sending the first message is only the beginning.
Behind every successful influencer campaign is a carefully managed process involving strategy, creator selection, negotiation, contracts, content planning, approvals, compliance, coordination, performance tracking and constant attention to detail. Every creator, deliverable and campaign decision must connect to the brand’s objective.
That complexity is exactly what made me interested in influencer marketing.

Understanding the Power of Creators
Traditional advertisements often interrupt people while they scroll. Creators, however, are already part of the content people choose to watch. Audiences follow them for their personalities, opinions, experiences and recommendations.
When the right creator communicates a brand message naturally, it can generate attention, emotion and trust in a way that traditional advertising does not always achieve.
I wanted to understand how that influence could be transformed into meaningful brand results.
Where My Journey Began
My influencer marketing journey began during the ANAX Capital launch campaign.
My manager and I were responsible for identifying relevant creators from the finance and trading space. I started by researching Indian financial influencers, studying their content and evaluating which creators could represent the brand appropriately.
The selection process was never based on follower count alone. I considered several factors, including:
- Audience relevance and location
- Engagement quality
- Content style and presentation
- Creator credibility
- Brand alignment
- Previous collaborations
- Commercial value and expected reach
After building a pool of suitable creators, I became involved in outreach, communication, negotiations and campaign coordination.
Working alongside my manager, I supported the campaign journey from approaching creators to finalising rates, deliverables, schedules and event participation. I also followed up on content requirements and helped ensure that creators delivered what had been agreed.
The campaign generated attention around the ANAX Capital launch. The presence and content of relevant financial creators contributed to stronger engagement, increased brand conversations and noticeable social media growth.
This experience showed me that influencer marketing was not simply a promotional activity. It was a combination of relationship management, brand strategy, audience psychology and precise execution.

Earning the Opportunity to Lead
Following the launch campaign, I was trusted with a much larger responsibility: managing influencer marketing for one of ANAX Capital’s biggest promotional campaigns the 1 KG Gold Campaign.
This time, I was not only supporting the process. I was responsible for driving the campaign forward in coordination with our influencer marketing agency, Media 67.
I developed the strategy, prepared campaign presentations, participated in planning meetings and managed the campaign across its complete lifecycle.
The primary objective was brand awareness, while engagement and lead generation were important commercial outcomes. Instead of relying on one type of influencer, I developed a mixed-creator strategy.
We collaborated with major GCC personalities, including Ebraheem, Safa, Farhana and Zeina, to generate regional visibility and mass awareness. We also included finance-focused creators to reach audiences with a stronger interest in financial topics and a greater likelihood of taking meaningful action.
Each creator category served a different purpose:
- Major personalities generated broad awareness and cultural relevance.
- Lifestyle creators made the campaign feel accessible and engaging.
- Finance creators added subject relevance and audience credibility.
- Performance-focused creators supported traffic, participation and lead generation.
This balance helped the campaign achieve both visibility and measurable business results.
Managing the Campaign End to End
For the 1 KG Gold Campaign, I managed and coordinated responsibilities across the entire campaign journey, including creator research, shortlisting, agency coordination, negotiations, contracts, campaign briefs, content reviews, compliance approvals, publishing schedules, deliverable tracking and performance reporting.
I also managed the less visible but equally important challenges: changing schedules, delayed submissions, content revisions, contract clarifications and continuous communication between creators, the agency and internal teams.
Working in the financial industry added another level of responsibility. Creator content needed to be engaging, but it also had to follow the required advertising and compliance standards. Messaging, captions, promotional conditions and disclosures had to be carefully reviewed before publication.
This taught me that successful campaign management is not only about producing creative content. It is about creating a clear process in which every stakeholder understands what needs to be delivered, approved and published.

Turning Attention into Results
The campaign generated more than 1.6 million views, over 30,000 likes, approximately 12,600 shares and more than 1,400 saves across five creators.
However, the impact was not limited to visibility and engagement. Audiences responded to the campaign, participated in the promotion and took meaningful actions, contributing to measurable commercial outcomes.
The experience helped me understand how creativity and performance can work together.
A successful creator can capture attention. A successful influencer strategy transforms that attention into awareness, trust, engagement and action.

From Learning to Leading
I began by researching relevant creators for a launch campaign. Over time, I progressed into managing strategy, agency coordination, negotiations, contracts, deliverables, approvals, performance measurement and reporting for a major regional campaign.
That journey took me from learning the mechanics of influencer marketing to leading its execution.
Today, I do not view influencer marketing as simply hiring people with large audiences. I see it as a structured business discipline built around human trust.
People believe people. Creators can translate brand messages into experiences, opinions and emotions that audiences understand. My role is to ensure that this influence is supported by the right strategy, the right process and the right measurement.
From creator sourcing to campaign reporting, I manage the complete journey keeping the brand, its audience and measurable results at the centre of every decision.
